Two ways to charge, and why it flips the answer
Tradify charges per person: $48 a user a month ex GST on Lite, rising to $62 on Plus, whatever your job count. (Tradify, checked )
ServiceM8 charges per business by new jobs a month, GST included: $29 for 50 jobs, $79 for 150, $149 for 500, with unlimited users on every paid plan. (ServiceM8, checked )
So one electrician doing 20 call-outs a week pays more on ServiceM8 than on Tradify, while a five-person crew doing the same 20 jobs pays far less. Before you look at features, know which side of that line you sit on.
The GST trap in price lists
A GST-inclusive price contains one-eleventh GST, so a $110 price is $100 plus $10 GST. (business.gov.au, checked )
A GST-registered business can claim a credit for the GST included in the price of things it uses in the business. (ATO, checked )
Some makers print prices with GST, some without, so a $79 plan can be cheaper than a $72 one. Every figure on this site is restated ex GST, the cost to a registered business, with the GST-inclusive price beside it.

Which job management app is cheapest in Australia?
It depends on two numbers: how many people need a login and how many jobs you run. Per-user apps such as Tradify and Fergus get dearer with every person you add; ServiceM8 charges by new jobs a month and lets paid plans have as many users as you like. Small teams with lots of short jobs usually pay least on a per-user plan; bigger crews doing fewer, longer jobs usually pay least on ServiceM8. The cost finder above works it out for your numbers.
Do these prices include GST?
We show both. The big number is ex GST, which is the real cost to a GST-registered business because it can claim the GST back. The smaller figure includes GST, which is what you pay if you aren't registered.
Why isn't my app in the cost order?
Some makers don't publish a price, and we don't guess one. They still appear in the list, marked as having no match, with the reason.
Do you get paid if I sign up?
Some makers run referral programmes we can join, which would pay us if you sign up through our links; others pay nothing. Neither changes the order, which is always cheapest fit first. The method page lists who pays.
