We compare only the 8 job management apps listed here, not the whole market. Other products may be available that suit you better. Sorted by name, because the cheapest depends on your team: the cost finder ranks them for yours.

Who pays us: ServiceM8, Tradify and Jobber run referral programmes that can pay us if you sign up through our links; none has paid us anything yet. Ascora, Fergus, Fieldmagic, AroFlo and simPRO pay us nothing. The order is always cheapest fit first and never changes for commission. How we rank

Each maker prices differently: per user or per business, by features or by the number of jobs, with GST or without. Above, every plan is restated in Australian dollars a month excluding GST, then priced for three real team sizes.

Questions

Why do some prices include GST and others don't?

Each maker chooses how to show its price. Tradify marks its prices ex GST and ServiceM8 says its Australian prices include GST, so ServiceM8's $79 plan is $71.82 to a GST-registered business. This page shows every price ex GST so they line up, with the published figure beside it.

Which is cheapest for a sole trader?

On published prices, ServiceM8's free plan covers one user and 30 new jobs a month, and its Starter plan covers 50 jobs for $29 including GST. Above about 11 jobs a week, ServiceM8's next plan is $79 including GST, and a per-user plan such as Tradify Lite at $48 ex GST ($52.80 with GST) becomes the cheaper one-person option.

Are there setup fees or contracts?

None of the published plans on this page lists a setup fee, and Tradify, ServiceM8 and Fergus each say their plans are month to month. Paid setup help is optional where it's offered.
